The Devils' girls' Junior 4 crew topped Ann Arbor Pioneer to claim the only first-place finish among Downriver teams.
It was the highlight of a day that saw five Grosse Ile boats qualify for final heats.
"It was a pretty efficient weekend and that shows we're doing the things we need to do in practice," Devils Coach Scott Sitek said.
"Earning more trips down the race course will help us as the season goes on."
Lauren Wenneman, Stephanie Johnson, Laurn Arini and Elena Herfi teamed with coxswain Courtney Ochab to win the Junior 4 race.
Grosse Ile also made the finals of the boys' Junior 4, girls' Senior Pair, girls' Single and boys' double.
High winds on the Detroit River forced officials to cancel the final two races. Sitek said he respected the officials' decision but was disappointed because it kept some seniors from rowing in their final meet close to home.
The Devils are in Cincinnati today and tomorrow for the Midwest Scholastic Championships.
