What started with two men fishing in the wrong place allegedly turned into a case of malicious destruction of property.
But an officer who looked into the situation did not see such damage.
The incident began when a resident stopped the officer at 4:45 p.m. last Friday and asked him to tell the two men that they were not allowed to fish off the Meso Island bridge.
After the officer did so, the men, who had been standing beside their vehicle at that point, apologized and drove away.
By the time the officer had driven to Meridian and Groh, he was notified by someone at the police station that he should return to the house of the man who made the complaint because the two men were there threatening his life.
The men, who were from Taylor and Flat Rock, soon drove away, however, and were stopped by a different officer on West River north of Groh.
After the first officer arrived at the location, the men told him they pulled into the first driveway near the spot where they had been parked in order to turn around and leave.
At that point, according to the police report, "a crazy old man" pulled up behind them, came up to their window and began yelling. They said they did not know that he lived at that house and that he scared them.
The driver said he pulled over the man's grass in order to leave before things got worse.
The officer told them a report would be filed about the alleged damage to the grass and the threats.
After they left, the officer returned to the man's house, where the man told him that the boys had said they would come back later to get him.
The officer said in the report that he only saw tracks near the end of the driveway; he did not see tracks on the lawn as the man had alleged.
The driver of a 2005 Chrysler Crossfire who was stopped on Voigt at about 4 a.m. May 1 for speeding was arrested for drunken driving.
He had a blood-alcohol level of 0.101 percent. A blood-alcohol level of 0.08 is considered intoxicated under state law.
The 25-year-old Grosse Ile man was sent to the police station, where he was later ticketed for drunken driving and released on a bond.
A Dearborn man was stopped at about 3:15 p.m. April 30 in the Meridian and Macomb area for what began with an officer noticing a cracked windshield on the 1995 Jeep he was driving.
The officer then saw that two children, 1 and 4, were in the back with their father, a Detroit man.
The children were not in car seats and were not wearing seat belts.
The driver then said that his license was suspended as a result of an incident in Detroit, but he was on his way to pick up a paycheck for his wife.
After the adult passenger's name was entered into the Law Enforcement Information Network as well, the officer found that he was wanted on three misdemeanor warrants in Detroit and a criminal bench warrant in Madison Heights.
The driver was arrested, and the three passengers were sent to the police station. In relation to the passenger's warrants, calls were made to the other cities.
The driver, however, was given a warning for the cracked windshield and was ticketed for driving on a suspended license and for two counts of failure to use child-restraint systems.
He was released on bond shortly afterward.
In what has been identified as an attempted breaking and entering, the door lock and handle of a house on Swan Island were damaged between noon and 3:30 p.m. April 27. No one entered the house.
A Grosse Ile Middle School student was treated at Henry Ford Wyandotte Hospital after a fight at about 11:30 a.m. April 25 in a hallway at the school.
Another boy allegedly approached him near a locker and hit him, causing him to black out briefly. When the boy awoke, the other boy was still hitting him. According to a police report, the boy said he was hit 15 to 20 times before the fight was stopped.
As a result of the incident, the boy's mother drove him to the hospital. According to a police report, the diagnosis was an alleged assault resulting in a head injury, a sprained left shoulder, swelling of the left eye socket and contusions to his face and scalp.
The other boy allegedly had been planning the assault for a while and chose that time because he believed the hallway would be clear.
A boy's mountain bike that was found on Macomb near the public parking lot on the evening of April 29 and a girl's mountain bike that was found near a pond near Hawthorn Glen at about 11 a.m. April 27 have been placed in a police storage facility.
