Brain Loftus leads Meridian Elementary School students April 24 during a historical "tour" of the island, which included a stop at the airport and Commerce Park site, which used to be a naval air base. Kurt Kobiljak also spoke with students about some of the historical highlights of the island. Other stops included the museum and Customs House. The Grosse Ile Historical Society sponsored the tour for students at Meridian and at Parke Lane Elementary School.
