The performances were held the weekend of Feb. 10 at the State Theater in downtown Minneapolis.
Marshall was invited to participate in this ballet production by the artistic director, Erik Sanborn, according to Beck Greene, owner of the Grosse Ile Academy of Dance, where Marshall is a member.
Greene said that Sanborn had the opportunity to see Marshall perform in the Plymouth-Canton Ballet Company's 2006 production of "The Nutcracker."
Marshall arrived in Minneapolis several days before the performances.
The week was filled with classes and rehearsals in preparation for the weekend shows, Greene said.
"It was great to live and work with the company and other guest dancers," Marshall said. "I made a lot of new friends and some important connections in the dance world."
Cast as one of Juliet's seven friends, Marshall appeared in both the first and second acts.
She was required to act in the production in addition to dancing. Marshall was the lead friend in the second act.
Marshall is a junior at Grosse Ile High School, and she dances at the Grosse Ile Academy of Dance under the direction of Dawn Greene.
Marshall has danced since the age of 3 and dances at least five days per week, Beck Greene said.
Her studio time is filled with technique classes and rehearsals for her dance productions, competitions and solos.
Marshall is currently working on her professional level Cecchitti grade five certificate.
Dancers at the academy study their chosen dance subjects, which include the Cecchitti ballet technique.
